Online gaming operators in the Great Lake State brought in $169.3 million in combined revenue from sports betting and casino gaming apps in June. The figures represent an 8.9% drop from May’s revenue figures of $185.5 million.
Despite the decline, online casino operators were actually up .3% last month, bringing in $151 million in revenue. Onnline casinos were also up over 24% from June 2022.
Sports betting was where operators experienced the biggest drop last month. June ended with total sports betting revenue reaching just $18.3 million, a 48% drop from May’s $35.2 million generated. Year-over-year, however, sports betting operators were still able to generate 18.8% more revenue in June 2023 than in June 2022. With not many major sporting events during the month of June, it makes sense why Michigan experienced a dip in revenue. Just south of the border, Ohio had its lowest handle, hold, and revenue. Other US states like Louisiana also experienced a 17.3% in legal sports betting revenue in June.

On the sports betting side of things, FanDuel brought in the most tax revenue during the month of June, totaling $621,425 in tax revenue. BetMGM brought in the most tax revenue for online casinos in June, with $12,953,655.
