Have a Game Plan Wins Responsible Gaming Award

The 2022 edition of the American Gambling Awards has announced that the American Gaming Association’s (AGA) Have a Game Plan. Bet Responsibly. campaign has won the 2022 “Responsibly Gaming Award.” 

The American Gambling Awards were created to highlight casino, sportsbook, and daily fantasy businesses and operators who excel in the casino space. The awards are picked by the Gambling.com group, a player acquisition service provider for the regulated global online gambling industry, according to its website.

“The American Gaming Association’s Have a Game Plan campaign has been one of the most widespread and successful responsible gaming initiatives in memory and is very deserving of receiving the Responsible Gaming award. The AGA continues to set the standard regarding legal, regulated gaming in the United States,” says Charles Gillespie, Chief Executive Officer of Gambling.com Group.

What the Have a Game Plan Campaign Stands For

With the growth of legal sports betting in the North American market, the AGA established the Have a Game Plan campaign in an effort to educate Americans on responsible sports betting. The campaign was first launched in 2019 and features over 30 partners who provide responsible wagering tools and tips for their audience through their bespoke public service announcements via radio, television, digital channels, in-venue, and more. 

Have a Game Plan is fostered around a unified message to advance responsible gaming throughout the entire sports betting network, including operators, leagues, teams, and media.

According to the Have a Game Plan website, “The campaign, founded by the AGA, convenes leagues, teams, media, sportsbooks, and other important industry stakeholders to make sports betting education approachable for fans.” It is a “first-of-its-kind” public service campaign to educate sports bettors, new and experienced, about responsible wagering practices.
