The American Gambling Awards honors companies, organizations, and individuals achieving excellence in the casino and sports betting industry.
The awards are produced by Gambling.com Group Limited. Gambling.com Group Limited is an award-winning company that helps operate and markets numerous gambling and sports betting websites.
Winners are awarded a coveted Gold Eagle Trophy and invited to a VIP dinner with the judges in New York this December. This year, one of those Eagles was awarded the 2022 Fantasy Sports Site of the Year: Underdog Fantasy.
Fellow Nominees
This year is the first time The American Gambling Awards established the Fantasy Sports Site of the Year category as a part of its ballot. The category outline on gambling.com states: “This award will go to the operator of a paid, fantasy sports service (DFS, etc.) that has progressed and shown positive development during the judging period. The judges want to know your biggest achievements of the year and why you feel you prevailed as the best fantasy sports site in America.”
The other two fantasy site finalists were PrizePicks and Thrive Fantasy.
PrizePicks features 60 sports on its site, has impressive partnerships with Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins, and was named one of the best places to work in Atlanta by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
ThriveFantasy has partnerships with PUBG Corporation and GRID esports. Both PrizePicks and ThriveFantasy focus on player prop bets. Prop bets are bets placed on the performance of one individual player rather than the overall outcome of a game or match.
Underdog Fantasy Stands Out
Underdog Fantasy was founded in March 2020, by Brandon Stakenborg, Jeremy Levine, and Trevor John. The fantasy sports betting site is backed by all-star industry professionals and globally recognized investors like Mark Cuban, Adam Schefter, Kevin Durant, and Matthew Dellavedova.
Underdog Fantasy is legal in more states than it is not. The only US states where the app is unavailable are Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, and Washington.
Underdog Fantasy truly lives up to its name, as it has become the fastest-growing sports fantasy site ever. After recent B-round fundraising, the company is valued at $485 million. Customers benefit from that firsthand, with Underdog’s grand prize for its season-long “Best Ball” game reaching $10 million. The site also features daily, weekly, and season-long fantasy games, as well as “Pick’Em” games. Underdog regularly offers promotions to welcome new players. They are currently running an offer where Underdog Fantasy will match your first $100 deposit.
The American Gambling Awards judges were impressed by Underdog Fantasy’s growth this year and its constant effort to keep its customers top of mind.
“Underdog Fantasy’s success is driven by the company’s focus on building new, innovative games and delivering amazing customer experiences – making it very deserving of the Fantasy Sports Site of the Year award. As Underdog continues to grow, its unique focus on product and experience will set the industry standard.”
President and Chairman of Underdog Fantasy, Jeremy Levine, reflected on what this award meant to him and his team. “We’re honored to be crowned as the Fantasy Sports Site of the Year by the American Gambling Awards…Our differentiated daily fantasy sports products allow fans to enjoy their favorite games in new and unique ways, and we look forward to our continued momentum heading into 2023.”
What a way to end a successful year for Underdog Fantasy!
