Media outlets are saturated with coverage of the $1 billion Powerball drawing Monday night. The Halloween night winning numbers were 13 – 19 – 36- 39 – 59, and Powerball 13. The prize money is still up for grabs as no player matched all five white balls and the Powerball to win the jackpot.

There were 13 tickets that matched all five white balls during Monday’s drawing, which resulted in some million-dollar payouts. Ten tickets matched the five white balls without Power Play and earned the $1 million prize. Residents in Florida, Indiana, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Texas, and California claimed the prizes (CA payouts based on sales in CA). Three other winners received $2 million for matching all five white balls and had Powerplay. Residents in Florida, New York, and Oklahoma won big last week.

It’s been over two months since the Powerball jackpot has been won. Now the jackpot has increased to over $1.2 billion. The drawing takes place tomorrow Nov. the 2nd. If won the jackpot would be the second-largest Powerball jackpot in history. The prize has a cash option of $596.7 million.

The drawings will be the fourth largest jackpot in US lottery history.

Largest jackpots in US history:
  1. Powerball, Jan. 13th, 2016, $1.586 billion, three winners in CA, FL, and TN
  2. Mega Millions. Oct. 23rd, 2018, $1.537 billion, won in SC

Three recent $1 million Michigan winners

Michigan lottery winners have been hitting a lucky streak this weekend by winning three $1 million tickets this Halloween weekend. One player in Michigan won on Halloween night during the $1 billion Powerball drawing. The other two winners were from Saturday evening’s Powerball drawing.

The ticket for the Halloween drawing was sold at a CVS Pharmacy located at 626 West Front St. Traverse City, MI. The winning tickets from Saturday night were sold at New Buffalo Shell at 18913 Laporte Road, New Buffalo, and Bills’ Liquor Depot II at 27222 Grand River Avenue, Redford.

None of the prizes from this weekend have been claimed as of November 1st, 2022. Saturday’s winning numbers were 19 – 31 – 40 – 46 – 57 and Powerball 23.

Michigan woman woke up at 3 a.m. to find out she won $100,000

A Michigan woman won a $100,000 Powerball prize earlier this month after suffering a rough night of sleep. Anne Vantongeren told Michigan Lottery officials, “The morning after the drawing, I woke up at 3 a.m. because I couldn’t sleep and saw I had an email from the Lottery telling me I’d won a prize, but it didn’t say how much.”

The Michigan resident says she plays the Powerball pretty often, and one random night she wasn’t able to sleep very well. When she woke up around 3 a.m, the 64-year-old woman checked her phone and saw a message from the Michigan Lottery. Once she signed into her account, she said her account had a balance of $100,000. “I was shocked … I just sat there staring at the amount waiting for it to sink in,” said Vantongeren.

She bought her ticket online and matched four out of the five white balls and the Powerball for a $50,000 prize.

The winner chose to add the Powerball, doubling her $50,000 prize to a cool $100k.

“Winning feels great and gives me a secure feeling knowing I don’t have to worry about finances.” The winner plans to make some home improvements before saving the rest of the prize money.
