The much anticipated PokerStars Players Championship, also known as the PSPC, is returning to the Caribbean this January 31st – February 3rd. The tournament is a $25,000 buy-in event that always brings out some of the world’s best poker players.
For the past year or so, PokerStars has been giving away free entries to the tournament in the form of a PokerStars Platinum Pass. Now there are only six opportunities for players to win one of the last Platinum Passes up for grabs in Michigan.
Last chance to win a Platinum Pass is December 9th, 2022
The final Platinum passes available for Michigan players are in the form of freerolls. Freerolls are PokerStars’ way of rewarding players for playing on the site and being in the top 300 on the leaderboard for the week. The online poker brand gives one freeroll entry to each player in the top 300 leaderboards. Each freeroll awards two players with a Platinum Pass.
The three remaining leaderboards are the Golden Ticket Leaderboard, Fall Fest Leaderboard, and December Leaderboard. The date of the three freerolls drawings and leaderboard dates are below. Each freeroll is held the day after the leaderboard ends.
- Golden Ticket Leaderboard – November 1st-7th, Freeroll – Nov. 8th
- Fall Fest Leaderboard – November 8th-28th, Freeroll – November 29th
- December Leaderboard – November 29th-December 9th, Freeroll – December 10th
PokerStars has already given away 400 spots to the tournament in the form of Platinum Passes. Each pass has an estimated value of $30,000. Winners receive a buy-in for the $25,000 event, a six-night stay for them and one guest at the Baha Mar Hotel and Resort in Nassau, airport transfers, Platinum Pass Winner experiences during the event, and $1,900 in expense money for the trip!
When is the PSPC?
The 2023 PSPC will be held during the Poker Caribbean Adventure (PCA), a larger tournament spanning January 22nd – February 3rd, 2023. The PCA is currently scheduled to have 70 event lineup with the main event featuring a buy-in of $10,300.
The PCA was on hold after a successful 2019 event. The following year, the PSPC was to be held in Barcelona (2020) with no word on the PCA. The pandemic then put a hold on the event for a few years. It wasn’t until April of this year that PokerStars announced that the PCA and PSPC would be making a return to the Caribbean in 2023. The event will be held at a new venue this year, The Baha Mar Hotel and Resort in Nassau, Bahamas.
“We have missed our live events as much as our players, so it is our true pleasure to announce the PokerStars Players Championship will take place at Baha Mar in January,” said Managing Director & Commercial Officer at PokerStars, Severin Rasset. “Beautiful location, hundreds of qualifiers, with millions to win. If there is one tournament to choose for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, it will be the PSPC.”
